Motorcyclist Killed In Collision After Allegedly Running Red Light In Coon Rapids
A motorcyclist died following a collision with a driver in Coon Rapids on Thursday evening.
The Anoka County Sheriff's Office says it was called to multiple reports of a crash at the intersection of Northdale Boulevard Northwest and Round Lake Boulevard Northwest just before 8 p.m.
Witnesses told police a Subaru Forester westbound on Northdale was struck by a Honda CBR600 motorcycle that was southbound on Round Lake.
Responders arrived to find the motorcyclist, a 25-year-old from Ramsey, seriously injured. While wearing protective riding gear, he was not breathing when responders arrived.
After CPR was performed, he was taken to Mercy Hospital, where he later died.
"Multiple witnesses at the scene reported the motorcyclist entered the intersection against a red light," the Anoka County Sheriff's Office said.
