Kinetic Group To Raise Ammunition Prices Nationwide This Fall

Increases of 3–12% will affect rifle, handgun, and shotshell ammunition across Federal, Remington, CCI, Speer, Fiocchi, and other brands starting October 1

ANOKA, Minn. (Aug. 27, 2025) — The Kinetic Group, parent company of many of the nation’s most recognized ammunition brands, has informed distributors and retailers that it will raise prices on rifle, handgun, and shotshell ammunition this fall. The increases, which vary by category, are scheduled to take effect on all orders shipped on or after October 1, 2025.

What’s Changing at a Glance

  • Effective Date: October 1, 2025 (applies to shipments, not just orders)
  • Brands Affected: Federal, CCI, Speer, Remington, Fiocchi, HEVI-Shot, Blazer, B&P
  • Increases:
    • Rifle ammunition: +5–7%
    • Shotshell ammunition: +7–10%
    • Handgun ammunition: +3–12%
  • Dealer Advisory: Orders shipped after Oct. 1 will be repriced, even if placed earlier, unless canceled or delivered in advance.

Why the increase

The Kinetic Group attributed the changes to sustained cost pressures across its supply chain. The price of raw materials such as brass, lead, antimony, and propellants has risen steadily, while energy and production costs have also remained elevated. These challenges mirror those faced by competitors, many of whom raised prices in 2024 and early 2025.

“Rising input costs and ongoing supply chain volatility make it necessary to adjust our pricing,” the company said in notices to its wholesale partners.

Market impact

Industry observers note that with The Kinetic Group’s wide market reach, the new pricing structure is likely to ripple across the retail ammunition sector. Some dealers have reported accelerating orders to stock up before October 1, while others are preparing to pass along costs directly to consumers. That could lead to short-term shortages in popular calibers or a noticeable bump in retail prices this fall.

The change is particularly significant for hunters and sport shooters, with shotshell ammunition seeing the highest percentage increase at up to 10%. Specialty handgun loads and certain premium shotshells may experience the steepest jumps, while some standard rifle SKUs fall on the lower end of the new range.

Company background

The Kinetic Group is headquartered in Anoka, Minnesota, and represents the ammunition segment spun off from Vista Outdoor during a 2024 corporate restructuring. The group has since integrated additional brands, including Fiocchi’s U.S. operations, into its portfolio. Together, its brands cover a broad swath of the market — from hunting and target shooting to law enforcement and military contracts — giving its pricing moves outsized influence nationwide.

Looking ahead

Dealers and consumers are advised to monitor updated SKU-level pricing through official distributor channels. While the increases reflect macroeconomic pressures on the industry, they may also trigger adjustments in consumer buying habits ahead of the fall hunting season.
