COLUMBIA HEIGHTS, MN — November 7, 2025 — A homicide investigation is underway after an adult male was found dead inside a vehicle early Friday morning in Columbia Heights, according to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say the incident occurred around 6:31 a.m. in the 500 block of 38th Avenue NE, where officers from the Columbia Heights Police Department responded to multiple reports of gunfire. When officers arrived on scene, they discovered an adult male deceased inside a vehicle with what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
As of Friday evening, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. Law enforcement officials have not released the identity of the victim, pending notification of family members.
The Columbia Heights Police Department, Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, and the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office are leading the joint investigation. Authorities are working to determine the events leading up to the fatal shooting and whether the incident was targeted or random.
