MINNEAPOLIMEDIA NEWS | Minneapolis Amplified Takes Live Music Into an Auto Shop as City Connects Local Artists With Neighborhood Businesses

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (October 18, 2026). East Hennepin Auto Service is scheduled to become a live music destination Sunday afternoon as Minneapolis Amplified continues a fall series designed to bring artists and audiences into businesses outside the city’s traditional performance circuit.

The event is listed for noon to 3 p.m. October 18 at 2100 E. Hennepin Ave., Suite 16.

The series is led by Dance Agenda in partnership with the Minneapolis Arts & Cultural Affairs Department. Running from October through December, it combines music and other artistic activities with visits to locally operated businesses.

For the city, the program connects cultural programming with a practical economic goal: giving residents additional reasons to visit neighborhood businesses and spend time in commercial spaces they might otherwise pass by.

Performances Outside Conventional Venues

The announced locations illustrate the approach. The series opened with events at Uncle Franky’s on October 10 and Band Box Diner on October 11 before moving to the East Hennepin auto shop.

Future stops include TAP IN Kitchen and Cocktails, 2618 Lowry Ave. N., on Saturday, October 31, from 8 to 11 p.m. The city has also announced a November 4 event at Mother Co. Plants, 2400 N. Second St., from 4 to 8 p.m.

The program gives local artists opportunities to reach people in settings associated with meals, shopping and everyday services. It also introduces those businesses to audiences arriving for an event.

The range of locations distinguishes the series from a single festival or a concert program confined to one stage. Each stop brings the performance into a different business and neighborhood setting.

Part of the City’s Business Recovery Effort

Minneapolis says the series receives part of its funding through the Small Business Resiliency Fund, which was approved in the spring to support businesses affected by Operation Metro Surge.

It also advances Minneapolis Forward, the city’s broader economic recovery initiative.

Dance Agenda is responsible for working with participating businesses on events of different sizes. Additional dates were still being finalized when the city published its announcement.

The city has not presented the series as a completed measure of business recovery. Its stated purpose is to create opportunities for local spending, artist exposure and community gatherings.

Residents considering Sunday’s event or a later stop should check the latest schedule linked through the city’s Minneapolis Amplified announcement. That page provides the announced locations and directs readers to future updates.
