MINNEAPOLIMEDIA NEWS | Blaine Community Connect Event Will Bring Housing, Health and Legal Resources Together October 21
BLAINE, MN (October 19, 2026). Anoka County residents seeking help with housing, food, health care connections or other household needs can meet service providers at a Community Connect event Wednesday, October 21, in Blaine.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Church of St. Timothy, 707 89th Ave. NE. All community members are welcome, and no registration is required.
Anoka County Human Services, Anoka County Community Action Program and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota are hosting the gathering.
Organizers have announced housing information, food resources, mental health support, health screenings, legal and advocacy services, and other community programs. Complimentary lunch, haircuts and a coat giveaway are also planned.
Two Presentations Focus on Housing
The schedule includes an HB101 and Housing Support presentation at 10:30 a.m., followed at noon by a presentation from the Metropolitan Interfaith Council on Affordable Housing, known as MICAH.
HB101 refers to Housing Benefits 101, a free Minnesota resource designed to help people understand housing choices and related services.
The Minnesota Department of Human Services describes the online tool as a place to explore housing goals, learn about available options and develop a plan. It can also help people identify programs and services that support living in their homes.
The two scheduled presentations give visitors specific times to plan around, while the broader resource event remains open through 2 p.m.
A Single Location for Several Needs
The gathering brings different service categories into one setting. A visitor seeking housing information can also speak with organizations offering food, health or legal resources during the same trip.
That arrangement is particularly relevant when a household’s needs overlap. Housing difficulties, for example, may coincide with questions about food access, health coverage or support services.
The announced program offers information and connections to participating resources. Individual services and benefit programs retain their own requirements.
The Coon Rapids community calendar also lists the event, confirming the Blaine location and presentation times. Its listing identifies the gathering as an outside organization’s event, rather than a City of Coon Rapids-sponsored program.
Residents planning to attend should use the Church of St. Timothy address in Blaine. The event is open to the community and is not being held at Coon Rapids City Hall.
The county’s Community Connect announcement provides the schedule and overview of available resources.
