The North Early Vote Center is at Urban League Twin Cities, 2100 Plymouth Avenue North. The South Early Vote Center is at Bethel Lutheran Church, 4120 17th Avenue South. Both serve Minneapolis residents regardless of their precinct and offer language support, accessible ballot-marking equipment and curbside voting.
The neighborhood openings are the latest development in the city’s expanding election operations. MinneapoliMedia previously reported the October 12 holiday closure at the main Early Vote Center and the extended hours scheduled later in the month. Tuesday’s expansion adds two continuing locations to that main facility at 980 East Hennepin Avenue.
City election officials reported receiving 18,132 ballots through October 16, compared with 13,714 at the corresponding point in 2022. That represents a 34.7 percent increase. The comparison measures early ballot returns, rather than final turnout or support for any candidate.
All three city-operated centers are scheduled to be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Friday, October 23. Weekend hours October 24 and 25 are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The schedule includes an additional evening hour October 27, when voting continues until 7 p.m., and a final early voting session from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. November 2.
Residents can also use one-day pop-up voting sites. Tuesday’s location is the Minneapolis Institute of Art, 2400 Third Avenue South, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Cedar Cultural Center hosts Wednesday’s session, followed by Midtown Global Market Thursday and Powderhorn Park Friday, each with the same hours.
Voters already registered at their current address generally do not need to bring documents. People registering or updating their registration should review the city’s acceptable proof-of-residence options before visiting.
The North and South centers will be closed on Election Day. Residents casting a ballot November 3 must use their assigned polling place. Ballot drop-off remains available until 5 p.m. that day at 980 East Hennepin Avenue and the Hennepin County Government Center, 300 South Sixth Street.
The city’s early voting page provides the complete schedule, transportation information and available accommodations.
