MINNEAPOLIMEDIA PRESENTS | This Weekend in the Twin Cities™: November 7 – 8, 2026

Image

The expanded Saturday–Sunday edition: Holiday markets, community celebrations, books, art, concerts, sports, theater and family adventures across Minneapolis, Saint Paul, Coon Rapids, Anoka County and the Northwest Metro.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (November 7, 2026).

Welcome to the Weekend!

Good morning, Minnesota!

November has arrived, and the Twin Cities have apparently decided that the holiday shopping season cannot wait another minute.

The Halloween decorations have barely returned to storage, but across the North Metro, craft vendors are already setting up tables, church volunteers are preparing baked goods, and families are making plans to visit holiday markets.

Somewhere in Coon Rapids, there is probably still a pumpkin on the porch while somebody inside is trying to remember which box contains the Christmas lights.

Nobody is particularly concerned about the contradiction. This is Minnesota. We can accommodate two seasons at once, provided somebody remembers where the extension cords are.

The weekend of November 7–8 offers plenty of reasons to get out of the house.

Across the Northwest Metro, Coon Rapids, Blaine, Champlin, Maple Grove, Andover, Brooklyn Center, Elk River and surrounding communities are hosting craft fairs, holiday boutiques and neighborhood gatherings.

Minneapolis and Saint Paul offer a different kind of bustle, with major concerts, professional sports, theater, museum programming and the Twin Cities Book Festival.

And for families who would prefer a quieter afternoon, nature centers, parks, libraries and museums provide opportunities to explore without committing to an entire day of expensive entertainment.

This expanded Saturday–Sunday edition of This Weekend in the Twin Cities™ preserves our original 89-listing directory while incorporating additional community events discovered during the update.

Visitor information: Each listing identifies the available address, telephone contact and event information. Where a number or venue has not been verified, it is explicitly identified rather than invented. Events with unresolved scheduling details should be reconfirmed before travel.

BEFORE YOU HEAD OUT

The weekend's calendar offers plenty of choices, but readers should check a few practical details before leaving home.

Addresses and entrances: Large venues may have different mailing addresses, parking entrances and visitor access points. Confirm the event entrance rather than relying solely on a street address.

Telephone contacts: Where a venue number is provided, it may connect to general visitor services rather than the event organizer. Some offices may not be staffed during weekend hours.

Admission and registration: Free events may still require reservations. Ticketed performances may sell out, and admission prices can change.

Accessibility: Contact the organizer or venue regarding accessible parking, seating, sensory accommodations and interpretation.

Weather: Check conditions before outdoor activities and dress in layers.

Event confirmation: Entries marked with unresolved schedules, addresses or telephone numbers remain research candidates. Readers should not make a special trip based solely on an unconfirmed listing.

THE TAKEAWAY

The weekend of November 7–8 demonstrates just how much activity takes place across the Twin Cities beyond the region's largest entertainment districts.

In Coon Rapids, Blaine, Champlin, Maple Grove, Andover and surrounding communities, volunteers, churches, schools and community organizations are creating opportunities for residents to gather, support small businesses and celebrate local creativity.

These events matter.

A holiday bazaar may not attract the same attention as an arena concert, but it can provide an important marketplace for independent artisans, raise funds for community programs and strengthen relationships among neighbors.

In Minneapolis and Saint Paul, the region's cultural institutions offer a different range of experiences, from literature and museums to theater, orchestral music and major sporting events.

The Twin Cities Book Festival celebrates reading, writing and independent publishing. Collectors Day at the Bell Museum reminds visitors that curiosity and knowledge can begin with the most ordinary objects.

The performing arts calendar brings audiences together through music and storytelling, while family programs introduce younger generations to creative and educational experiences.

What makes the weekend particularly encouraging is its variety.

Some events are free. Others require tickets.

Some take place in large venues. Others unfold in church halls, school gymnasiums, neighborhood markets and community centers.

That range matters because a healthy metropolitan area should offer meaningful opportunities for people of different ages, interests and budgets.

And sometimes, the most memorable experience is not the one everyone has been talking about.

It is the neighborhood gathering you almost decided to skip.

EDITOR'S NOTE

At MinneapoliMedia, we believe a good weekend should come with plenty of possibilities, a little adventure and, preferably, fewer arguments about where everyone wants to go.

This Weekend in the Twin Cities™ is our way of helping you discover the people, places, celebrations and experiences that make Minnesota's communities worth exploring.

This weekend is a particularly good opportunity to support local artisans, neighborhood organizations, independent artists and the volunteers who keep community traditions alive.

We hope you will consider visiting somewhere new, especially a neighborhood or suburb you have not explored before.

And if you return home from a craft fair with a decorative candle, a knitted scarf and three items you had absolutely no intention of purchasing, we understand.

November has a way of doing that to people.

Event schedules, admission prices and ticket availability can change, sometimes faster than a Minnesota weather forecast. We encourage readers to check directly with organizers before heading out, especially for outdoor activities, advance reservations and accessibility arrangements.

Most importantly, enjoy yourself. Support local artists, visit a neighborhood you have never explored, introduce someone to a new experience and remember that not every weekend needs an elaborate itinerary to become a good memory.

And if your carefully planned Saturday somehow turns into three unexpected stops and dinner somewhere nobody originally suggested, well, that sounds like a fairly successful weekend to us.
