Dave's Hot Chicken To Open In Minneapolis' North Loop

An opening date has also been announced for the Coon Rapids location.

Dave's Hot Chicken will open in Minneapolis' North Loop neighborhood in early 2025, franchisee Alex Humphries said Thursday.

The new restaurant will be Dave's Hot Chicken's first Minneapolis location. It's set to open sometime during the first quarter and occupy a roughly 4,000-square-foot space in the the Duffey Lofts building along Washington Avenue, according to Humphries.

"The mix of historic preservation and modern innovation in the North Loop creates a unique atmosphere that we believe is ideal for Dave's Hot Chicken," Humphries shared in an email.

"Coupled with its diverse demographics and proximity to downtown Minneapolis, the North Loop provides a strong trade area that attracts both residents and visitors. We look forward to contributing to this community."

The family-run franchisee operation from former NBA star Kris Humphries, his parents William and Debra Humphries, and cousin Alex Humphries brought the California-born fried chicken chain to Minnesota in 2023.

The fast-casual restaurant, located in Minnetonka, St. Paul's Highland Park neighborhood and Apple Valley, will open its fourth Minnesota location on Friday, Aug. 9 in Coon Rapids.

A total of 18 locations, with one each in Rochester and St. Cloud, are planned to eventually open in Minnesota.
