Anoka’s Housing and Redevelopment Authority wants to help put a brand new shine on its historic downtown. The group is gearing up for a downtown Façade Improvement Program to give $1,000 to $10,000 loans for projects that will help restore and beautify its buildings.
“We’ve done a commercial rehab loan downtown that we started years ago, … but, we’ve never really focused on the facades of our downtown,” HRA Executive Director Darin Berger said. “There’s been a lot of work obviously done. There’s great, great buildings, but there’s definitely some that can maybe use a boost. So maybe we could kind of put some money into specific facade improvements.”
