Minnetonka Anticipates End To Gas Line Construction Disruptions As Temporary Restoration Nears Completion
Residents of Minnetonka who've been navigating around the construction for the Natural Gas Line Replacements can look forward to the completion of temporary restoration this fall, with permanent solutions on the horizon for the coming year. According to an update from CenterPoint Energy, crews from contractor Q3 completed the main installation work on October 28 and are now focused on temporary fixes to pave the way for the winter months.
With the chill setting in, temporary asphalt is being laid on sidewalks to facilitate safe snow removal and ensure safe passage for pedestrians. The permanent concrete restoration, which awaits the mercy of Minnetonka's climates, is slated for the spring and summer of 2025 when construction conditions are more suitable. This was detailed in a recent bulletin on CenterPoint Energy's website.
As for the homeowners whose lawns have turned into part of the construction landscape, boulevards and lawns will see holes backfilled with dirt and topped with straw matting to prevent erosion over the winter. "In 2025, black dirt, grass seed and biodegradable netting will replace the temporary work done this fall," as per the CenterPoint Energy announcement.
