Two Motorcyclists Killed In Separate Weekend Crashes In Anoka County

The motorcyclist, Kelly Matthew Linder, 49, of Albert Lea, was waiting to make a left turn at the time of the crash.

Two motorcyclists were killed in Anoka County in separate crashes over the weekend.

The first crash happened Sunday when motorcycle was hit from behind by an SUV driver on Saturday morning in Oak Grove.

According to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office, the crash was reported just before noon at the 3200 block of Viking Boulevard Northwest, where motorcyclist Kelly Matthew Linder, 49, of Albert Lea, was stopped awaiting to make a left turn.

Linder was struck from behind by an SUV driven by a 31-year-old woman from St. Francis.

Lifesaving measures were given to Linder by responders, and Life Link III air medical transport provided additional aid, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second crash on Sunday around noon near Green Haven Parkway and Thurston Avenue in the City of Anoka.

The crash report showed that a motorcycle being driven by Bradley Brockel, 52, of Ramsey, was traveling westbound on Green Haven when he left the roadway and struck a pole.

Despite lifesaving measures being given by a passerby and responders, Brockel was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both crashes are still under investigation and no further information is available at this time.
