Coon Rapids Recycling Center Hosts Free Paper Shredding Event For Anoka County Residents

Amid rising concerns over identity theft and the need for secure document disposal, Anoka County residents and small business owners mark their calendars. The Coon Rapids Recycling Center is hosting a free paper shredding event on Saturday, November 2, giving the community a chance to safely destroy their sensitive documents. According to the City of Coon Rapids website, the service will be available from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. or until the truck reaches capacity.

Conveniently located at 1827 111th Ave. NW, the recycling center has set a limit of five boxes per person to ensure that as many residents as possible can take advantage of the service. Participants can rest easy as their documents will be shredded into confetti-sized pieces before their eyes in a mobile truck equipped with a cross-cut shredder. Once the documents are disposed of, cardboard boxes can be dropped off at the Recycling Center, as detailed by the City of Coon Rapids.

Preparing documents for shredding can often be a tedious task, but Anoka County has streamlined the process. "It is not necessary to remove paper clips, staples or rubber bands," states the event notice. Furthermore, there is no need to separate papers from envelopes, remove windows from envelopes, or detach books of checks. However, participants should leave their three-ring binders, credit cards, and CDs at home, as these items are not accepted.

For further information about the shredding services and items acceptable for shredding, you are encouraged to visit the Coon Rapids Recycling Center announcement.
