Eden Prairie Police Department Celebrates Its Own At The Annual Awards Ceremony
The Eden Prairie Police Department (EPPD) recently held its Annual Awards and Recognition Program to honor the exemplary service of its personnel over the past year.
Amongst the festivities, four new officers officially joined the ranks, swearing in their dedication before friends and family, as reported by EPPD on their official blog.
Highlights of the ceremony included the notable promotions within the force.
According to the EPPD blog, Records Supervisor Alyssa Benkowski along with Dispatch Supervisor Dennis Clark, had both risen to their new levels of responsibility.
The occasion, symbolizing more than just personal milestones, underscored the department's commitment to foster growth and to consistently adapt to serve better.
One of the most heartfelt recognitions awarded during the evening was the Chaplain Tim Power Award, which found its deserving recipient in Officer Dan Chanski.
"The award recognizes an employee who provides consistent care for people in the department and community, displays empathy when communicating with the public and fellow employees, demonstrates teamwork and exhibits actions that are engaging and encourages people to share themselves," the blog post articulated.
Similarly crucial in the battle against localized commerce threats, Officer Scott Williamson ascended to the honor of Officer of the Year for his work as a Retail Crime Officer.
The accolade stood testament to his "consistently helpful" nature, "great attitude," and his adept skill to effectively communicate across the community.
In parallel strides, civilian staff were also celebrated as Molly Mitley was named Civilian Employee of the Year for her dedication to social work, actively assisting those entangled within a spectrum of challenges to access necessary resources and services.
The EPPD's Annual Awards do not merely mark individual achievements but reflect a collective commitment to public service. The police force and civilian aides alike are recognized for their integral roles in cultivating a safe and empathetic environment for residents of Eden Prairie. The EPPD extends its congratulations to all honorees and reaffirms their mission of steadfast service to the community.
