Rep. Ginny Klevorn (DFL-Plymouth) says the legislative session is off to a strong start with systems in place to get work done.
“The number one priority we should all be focused on is making sure we have a budget that works for Minnesotans,” Klevorn said.
Klevorn is advocating for local projects, including tax measures to support Plymouth’s infrastructure and funding for the Plymouth Ice Center’s proposed fourth sheet of ice.
“Of course our hockey teams definitely want that fourth sheet of ice, and that’s a bonding issue that Rep. [Ned] Carroll is taking the lead on, but it’s actually housed in the district that I represent, so it’s an issue that’s regional,” said Klevorn, who also stresses the infrastructure support around the improvements. “The infrastructure that goes along with that is just as important. We have to make sure we have the storm water capacity to handle the runoff.”
Klevorn is optimistic about House members working together, despite being split by party. She will co-chair the House Committee on State Government.
“It’s important for us to always remember there are people attached to everything that we do,” said Klevorn.
