Spring time is here, and that means the arrival of baby animals like lambs, kids and chicks. There’s a place in Brooklyn Park where you can see all three – and more at the annual Spring Babies Festival.
“It’s a great outing for spring. The weather’s here, let’s do it!” said Bert Bouwman, the farmer and host of the annual festival, located off Highway 169 and 109th Avenue North.
There are unique ones this year– including a miniature cow. There are also some more common favorites for people to pet and play with.
“The puppies are probably one of the most popular,” Bouwman said, holding a small black puppy. “They are very cute. Ready to be entertained, and have some time with a lot of young people over there.”
Bouman said there’s more to check out at Spring Babies besides the pets. There’s a corn pit, inflatables, face painting and food trucks.
The festival runs every weekend through the first weekend of May from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tickets are for sale online.
