The City of Coon Rapids is officially ushering in the holiday season with its beloved Community Tree Lighting Festival, returning on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. at Boulevard Plaza, located at 11002 Crooked Lake Blvd.

City crews recently installed this year’s holiday tree at the plaza, marking the beginning of a festive season that brings thousands of residents together each year. The event—hosted by the City of Coon Rapids in partnership with the Coon Rapids Community Strength Foundation—remains a signature tradition celebrating community, togetherness, and holiday cheer.
This year’s festival offers a full slate of free, family-friendly activities designed to delight attendees of all ages. According to the City of Coon Rapids’ event announcement (coonrapidsmn.gov), visitors can look forward to:

The festival is supported by the Coon Rapids Community Strength Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to enhancing community life by funding local celebrations and civic events.

Completing the form does not commit the homeowner to donate. Instead, submissions are reviewed each late summer or fall by members of the Coon Rapids Community Strength Foundation, who determine whether a tree meets the city’s needs for the annual display.
The City recommends that attendees:

With its blend of tradition, generosity, and holiday magic, the 2025 Community Tree Lighting Festival is set to once again bring the community together in celebration.
