Precinct caucuses and local/state nominating conventions will still take place for other party business.
Precinct caucuses are meetings run by state political parties. They are the first in a series where parties may endorse candidates, select delegates, and set goals and priorities (party platform).
Caucus locations will be posted shortly before the caucus date at mnvotes.org.
On the Ballot
Only major political parties are allowed to participate; each party has its own ballot with only their candidates listed.
You may only request one party’s ballot.
Your ballot will only list nominees for president for the party you requested.
If a voter refuses to select a party, they will not be able to vote in the presidential primary.
A record of which party’s ballot you selected will be made available to the chair of the major political party whose ballot you selected.
Each major party chair will submit a list of candidates for their party and determine if a write-in space is on the party’s ballot.
The presidential nomination primary results are binding and determine Minnesota’s delegates for each major party.
