Who Shot And Killed Robert Brown? St. Paul Police Asking Public For Help In Homicide Case

He was killed in St. Paul's Frogtown neighborhood on the morning of April 3.

Authorities are appealing to the public for help solving the homicide of a St. Paul man who was shot and killed in the Frogtown neighborhood earlier this month.

Robert Brown, 41, suffered a gunshot wound near Grotto Street and Lafond Avenue around 1:00 a.m. on April 3. He was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle, but was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.

"Saint Paul, we need your help," says a Friday social media post from the police department. "Robert leaves behind countless family members and friends who miss him. Saint Paul Police investigators have been working diligently to find the person or people responsible for Robert’s death":

Police have released few other details about his death.

In a Pioneer Press article, Brown's longtime partner described him as a "devoted dad" and family man who "loved coaching both football and basketball, which turned into lifelong mentorships with many of the kids."

Anyone with information about the homicide is urged to contact the department's homicide unit at 651-266-5650, or submit an anonymous tip via Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
