Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office has had a busy week, engaging with the community on multiple fronts, as shared in the latest edition of Witt’s Weekly Roundup. The sheriff himself, Sheriff Witt, addressed Metro Transit’s Advancing Women in Transit group, reinforcing the office's support for gender equity in transportation careers, according to the Facebook post by the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office. The roundup also highlighted the sheriff's department's continuous efforts to nurture positive relations with the youth as deputies joined back-to-school events.

Adding an educational twist, the office provided a behind-the-scenes look at their operations, through a tour of the Adult Detention Center for WCCO Radio's Adam and Jordana, a notable outreach effort showcasing transparency and community-oriented policing. K9 Jax took center stage in a demonstration for students, showing off the skills employed to protect and service members of the community, as per the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office.

The social integration continued at the Great Minnesota Get-Together, where the HCSO set up shop for all 12 days of the event. Nestled at the junction of Dan Patch and Cooper Street, the sheriff's booth—right in front of the Merchandise Mart— invites passersby to initiate conversation, acquire a free Deterra medicine disposal bag, and discover more about careers at HCSO, as detailed by the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office.
