Coon Rapids Fire Department Hosts Blood Drive In Collaboration With American Red Cross

The Coon Rapids, MN Fire Department is stepping up beyond their call of duty by teaming up with the American Red Cross in an effort to bolster local blood supplies; a blood drive is set for Monday, Sept. 9 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Fire Station #3, located at 3150 111th Avenue, as announced in a recent Facebook post by the City of Coon Rapids, Minnesota.

In an ongoing commitment to community service, the local fire department's collaboration with the Red Cross aims to address the often-unseen need for blood donations which can save countless lives, and they are calling on the community to show their support by rolling up their sleeves and donating blood; appointments can be made either by calling the Red Cross at 1-800-733-2767 or by visiting their website RedCrossBlood.org, options designed to facilitate ease of participation for willing donors in the area.

Residents of Coon Rapids and surrounding communities are therefore encouraged to contribute to this life-saving initiative, for someone's loved one, for a neighbor, for strangers whose lives may hang in the balance, for it's in these acts of giving—simple yet profound—that the fabric of a community is both tested and strengthened, with the potential impact of each donation extending far beyond what one could see on the surface; every pint of blood has the potential to save up to three lives, making the act of donation a multiplicative gesture of goodwill.
