Twin Cities Traffic Stop Yields More Than 500 Pieces Of Stolen Mail
A suspect has been charged with two counts of felony mail theft in connection with the incident.
A suspect was arrested in Inver Grove Heights on Thursday after she was found to have more than 500 pieces of stolen mail in her car.
According to the Inver Grove Heights Police Department, an officer made a traffic stop on the 7800 block of Concord Boulevard just after midnight. During the stop, the officer noticed mail strewn throughout the car. After questioning, the driver admitted she had stolen it from nearby mailboxes.
More than 500 pieces of stolen mail were eventually processed from 161 victims, according to the department.
The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Kanesha Anderson, of Inver Grove Heights, has been charged with two counts of felony mail theft.
The department says it will notify victims and encouraged anyone in the area who has not received mail to check with the post office.
