Monroe Elementary Celebrates Reaching $25,000 Fundraising Goal
Kids at a Brooklyn Park elementary school got a chance to “let off some steam” after meeting an important goal.
Monroe Elementary students brought in more than $25,000 for their school during a recent fundraising effort.
As a reward, the 10 top-earning students got to spray the teacher of their choice with Silly String during an assembly.
Parent-teacher organization vice president Tiffany Nguyen said the money students raised will help fund new technology and field trips.
“Fundraisers like these become more important as the school district continues to deal with budget cuts,” Nguyen said. “These funds go towards continuing educational needs and making sure that our curriculum stays up to date.”
