Revised Townhouse Project Wins Coon Rapids City Council Approval
A proposed 34-unit rental townhouse project on a 3.8-parcel adjacent to and owned by Peace Lutheran Church, south of the University Avenue/Northdale Boulevard intersection, that was rejected by the Coon Rapids City Council last August has been revised and won approval from the council Feb. 6.
Access was the main reason for rezoning denial last year. Instead of access to a city residential street, Butternut, the new proposal will have right-in, right-out access with a 135-foot right-turn lane on University Avenue, an Anoka County state aid highway. The county highway department has signed off on it.
