Family, friends, mentors and more filled the Anoka City Council room on Monday night, March 17, to celebrate the swearing-in of Captain Andy Youngquist as the 34th Chief of Police in the city of Anoka. It comes after the announcement of Chief Eric Peterson’s retirement, which will take effect at 12:01 a.m. on March 22.
“There’s a lot of weight to this position, and it’s time for me to take it on,” Youngquist said. “And it feels like I only just got sworn in, doesn’t it Dad?”
