Coon Rapids Hosts Open House For Spongy Moth Removal In City

The Minnesota Department of Agriculture’s Plant Protection Division is making its way through the state to stop an invasive species from eating trees. The invader, the spongy moth, begins its feasting process in May and June.

The state held an open house in Coon Rapids to discuss how this would look for the city on March 19 at Sand Creek Park, displaying information regarding both the moth itself, as well as the bacterial method used to get rid of it.
