20-Year-Old Bicyclist Killed In Crash With St. Francis School Bus Is Identified

Brady Gerald Ausland was killed in the Friday morning crash near the St. Francis Learning Center.

The bicyclist killed in a crash with a school bus in St. Francis has been identified as a 20-year-old Oak Grove man.

According to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred Friday morning in the area of St. Francis Boulevard Northwest and Ambassador Boulevard Northwest, near the St. Francis Learning Center.

A school bus driver was attempting to turn south onto St. Francis Boulevard from Ambassador Boulevard Northwest when she crashed into a man riding an e-bike, according to a preliminary investigation.

The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. He has since been identified by the Minnesota State Patrol as 20-year-old Brady Gerald Ausland of Oak Grove.

The state patrol crash report says the school bus driver completed a stop at a stop sign while Ausland allegedly "did not stop at crosswalk stop sign."

Ausland was wearing a helmet, the state patrol noted.

The driver of the school bus was identified as a 42-year-old woman from Cedar, Minnesota.
