In a gesture of remembrance, the Maple Grove Police Department has called on residents to light their porches blue.
This request coincides with the National Police Week running from May 11 through May 17, aiming to honor the officers who have fallen in the line of duty.
According to the Maple Grove Police Department, the public can participate in the Blue Light Project by incorporating blue light bulbs into their outdoor lighting fixtures during this solemn week.
Several local businesses have partnered with the Maple Grove Police Department to make blue light bulbs easily accessible to community members. These establishments include Hardware Hank, located at 12700 Bass Lake Rd, and Home Depot at 15800 Grove Circle N. Jerry's Do-It-Best Hardware on 13151 Weaver Lake Rd, Lowe's at 11201 Fountain Dr, and Menards positioned on 16500 96th Ave N are also supporting the initiative.
