TWIN CITIES, MINNESOTA—Two separate motorcycle pursuits led by Minnesota State Patrol troopers on Friday night, May 23, 2025, ended with arrests after high-speed chases in different parts of the Twin Cities metro area. Both incidents remain under active investigation. The video above, captured from the MnDOT cameras, is from the first pursuit and includes scanner traffic.
At approximately 10:30 p.m. on Friday, a Minnesota State Trooper attempted to stop a motorcycle for speeding on eastbound I-94 near John Ireland Boulevard in St. Paul, Minnesota.
According to authorities, the rider refused to stop, increased speed, and fled from the trooper.
The pursuit continued until the motorcyclist lost control while trying to pass a vehicle on the shoulder that was moving over for law enforcement and crashed in the area of Highway 61 and Maxwell Street. After the crash, the suspect fled on foot but was eventually apprehended by law enforcement without incident. Speeds during this pursuit reached 120 mph. St Paul Police and Minnesota State Patrol Air Support assisted in this incident.
The driver has been identified as Timothy Adam Chambers, a 26-year-old man from Cottage Grove, Minnesota. He was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation, though officials noted the reason for the hospital visit was not related to the crash. Details on the specific medical issue were not released.
The State Patrol confirmed that this investigation is ongoing. When available, further information, including possible charges, will be released.
Roughly 20 minutes after the first incident, at about 10:50 p.m., another trooper attempted to stop a motorcycle for speeding on northbound I-35W near Lake Drive in Blaine. Like the earlier pursuit, the motorcyclist refused to pull over and accelerated away, prompting another high-speed chase.
The pursuit continued northbound, covering several miles before the motorcycle stopped on its own near milepost 151 on northbound I-35 in Harris. The suspect attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended by law enforcement officers without further resistance. Speeds during this pursuit were over 120 mph at times. Several agencies, including Chisago County and Anoka County law enforcement officers, assisted in this pursuit.
The driver was identified as Andrew Earl Jorgenson, a 32-year-old man from Danbury, Wisconsin. He was arrested and booked into the Anoka County Jail on charges of fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle and suspicion of driving while impaired (DWI). According to Anoka County, Minnesota jail records, he also has charges for 5th degree drug possession and fugitive from justice from another state.
As with the earlier incident, this case remains under investigation.
