Anoka County Resumes Operations Following Labor Day Holiday

ANOKA COUNTY, Minn. — Anoka County government offices reopened Tuesday, September 2, 2025, following a one-day closure in observance of the Labor Day holiday on Monday, September 1. The holiday impacted nearly all county-operated facilities, which have now resumed their normal schedules and services.

Holiday Closure

In line with standard practice for federal holidays, Anoka County closed its main administrative hub—the Anoka County Government Center—along with multiple public-facing services. The closure included:

• License & Passport Centers: Locations in Blaine, Coon Rapids, Columbia Heights, Ham Lake, and Ramsey were closed for the day.
• Anoka County Libraries: All library branches were closed for the extended Labor Day weekend, from Saturday, August 30, through Monday, September 1.
• Public Health & Environmental Services: Offices handling recycling, waste disposal, and related services were not available during the holiday.

Reopening & Available Services

All facilities resumed operations on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, with the return of regular weekday schedules. For most departments, this means standard Monday–Friday hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Key services once again available include:

• Licensing and Passport Applications: Residents can now access in-person services at License & Passport Centers across the county. The Call Center is available at 763-324-2100 for assistance.
• Library Services: Branches have resumed regular hours following the three-day holiday weekend.
• Public Health & Environmental Services: Offices reopened with normal schedules for recycling, hazardous waste, and other public health resources.
