Early Voting Opens for Anoka-Hennepin School Board Election

Early voting for the Anoka-Hennepin school board election, set for Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, began on Friday, Sept. 19. Eligible voters may cast an absentee ballot in advance of Election Day, either by mail or in person, without needing to provide a reason.

Early Voting Options

  • Vote early by mail: Voters can request an absentee ballot application online through the Minnesota Secretary of State’s website or by contacting the Anoka County Elections office. Completed ballots must be received by Election Day in order to be counted.
  • Vote early in person: In-person absentee ballots can be cast at designated election offices during normal business hours.

Locations and Hours

Because the Anoka-Hennepin School District spans both Anoka and Hennepin counties, early voting options are available in each:

  • Anoka County: Anoka County Government Center, 2100 3rd Avenue, Suite 160, Anoka, MN 55303. Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday–Friday.
  • Hennepin County: Hennepin County Government Center, 300 S. 6th St., Skyway Level, Minneapolis, MN 55487. Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday–Friday.

Extended hours may be offered closer to Election Day. By law, early voting offices are open until 5:00 p.m. the day before the election.

Ballot Information

The 2025 election will fill three school board seats representing districts 3, 4, and 6. Voters may only cast a ballot for candidates in their assigned district:

  • District 3: Incumbent Kacy Deschene and challenger Lorraine Coan. District 3 includes Champlin, parts of Dayton, and the northwest section of Coon Rapids.
  • District 4: Incumbent Matt Audette and challenger Abbey Payeur. District 4 covers portions of Nowthen, Ham Lake, Oak Grove, and Andover, along with the northeastern section of Ramsey.
  • District 6: Incumbent Jeff Simon and challenger Tiffany Strabala. District 6 includes northern Coon Rapids and southern Andover.
