HAM LAKE, MN — The Anoka County Library will host a special Petite Concert – Classical Music Event for Families on Friday, October 17, from 2:00 to 2:30 p.m. at the North Central Library in Ham Lake. The event is free and open to families with children ages 0–6, though registration is required.
Designed as an interactive and experiential program, the Petite Concert introduces young audiences to vibrant classical and multicultural music in an engaging and accessible way. Children will be encouraged to connect with familiar classical pieces through clapping, dancing, singing, and hands-on exposure to instruments, fostering early appreciation and curiosity for the arts.
According to the Anoka County Library’s event listing, the concert aims to bring live, participatory music experiences directly to young families, helping children build foundational listening and coordination skills while sharing the joy of music with their caregivers.
The 30-minute program emphasizes movement, rhythm, and exploration — elements proven to support early childhood development and family bonding through the arts.
Families interested in attending the Petite Concert can register online through the Anoka County Library events calendar: https://anokacounty.libcal.com/event/14779023.
The Petite Concert is part of the Anoka County Library’s continuing commitment to provide enriching, family-friendly programming that inspires lifelong learning and creativity through music and the arts.
