COON RAPIDS, MN
The City of Coon Rapids is entering the final days of its annual Season of Giving Holiday Donation Drive, with the community wide effort set to conclude today, Monday, December 15. Residents have one last opportunity to donate essential items and financial contributions that will directly support local families, seniors, hospital patients, and individuals affected by domestic violence during the holiday season.
Now in its final weekend, the 2025 drive has served as a critical source of support for nonprofit organizations across Anoka County, helping ensure that high priority needs are met before the holidays arrive.
The primary collection site remains Coon Rapids City Hall, located at 11155 Robinson Drive. Donation bins are available inside the front lobby during regular business hours through the end of the drive.
City officials encourage residents who plan to give to do so as soon as possible to allow partner organizations time to distribute items ahead of the holidays.
The Season of Giving drive continues to accept a wide range of donations, including:
All contributions remain local and are distributed based on the most urgent needs identified by participating charities.

Several nonprofit organizations serving vulnerable populations throughout Anoka County will benefit from the final round of donations.
ACBC Food Shelf continues to request non perishable food items such as canned tuna or chicken, cereal, pasta and rice with whole grains preferred, peanut butter, flour, oil, sugar, condiments, baking ingredients, spices, and baby food.
Toys for Joy and the Christmas Committee, which serves children from birth through age 18, is accepting only new and unwrapped toys. High demand items include books, puzzles, games, small electronics, gift cards, and gifts appropriate for teens ages 12 to 18.
Alexandra House, Anoka County’s only 24 hour domestic and sexual violence shelter, is emphasizing the need for winter clothing. Priority items include new or gently used winter coats, especially children’s sizes 2T, 3T, and 4T, adult small and medium sizes, new hats and gloves for children, and new or gently used children’s boots in all sizes.
Granny’s Closet, which supports low income seniors and adults with disabilities, continues to seek personal care and household essentials such as shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, men’s razors, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, dish soap, and general household cleaners.
Donations will also support Mercy Hospital patients, with an emphasis on providing comfort and cheer to pediatric patients during hospital stays over the holidays. New unwrapped toys and monetary donations are especially helpful.
Residents may also donate at several additional collection sites throughout Coon Rapids, all of which accept items during their regular operating hours through Monday.
City leaders describe the Season of Giving campaign as one of Coon Rapids’ most meaningful annual traditions, ensuring that thousands of local residents experience a safer, warmer, and more supported holiday season. While item donations remain essential, monetary contributions are also welcomed and allow partner organizations to quickly address their most urgent needs.
With the donation drive ending Monday, December 15, community members are encouraged to act quickly and help close out the season with a strong show of generosity for neighbors in need.
