COON RAPIDS, MINNESOTA
As Minnesota prepares for the return of warmer weather and the start of another busy golf season, the City of Coon Rapids is now hiring part time seasonal staff at the city operated Bunker Hills Golf Club.
City officials announced several openings at the popular municipal golf course, including positions in golf maintenance, the golf pro shop, and seasonal gardening. The hiring effort comes as the course prepares for increased play during the spring and summer months when golfers across the Twin Cities metro return to the greens.
Located within Bunker Hills Regional Park, the course is widely considered one of the premier public golf facilities in the north metro. Each year it attracts thousands of recreational and competitive golfers from across the Twin Cities region.

The city is recruiting workers for three main categories of seasonal employment at the golf course.
Maintenance staff support the grounds crew responsible for keeping the course in playable condition throughout the season. Typical responsibilities include mowing and trimming turf, raking bunkers, moving tee markers, and maintaining fairways and greens.
Because course preparation often begins early in the morning, maintenance shifts may include early hours as well as some weekend work.
Pro shop employees serve as the front line of customer service for the facility. Staff assist golfers with tee time check-ins, manage point of sale transactions, support merchandise sales, and help coordinate the daily flow of golfers arriving at the course.
Seasonal gardeners help maintain the landscaping around the clubhouse and course grounds. Duties typically include tending flower beds, maintaining decorative plantings, and assisting with the overall visual presentation of the facility.
According to the City of Coon Rapids job listings, seasonal golf maintenance positions typically pay between $12 and $14 per hour, with schedules that may range between 30 and 40 hours per week during the active golf season.
Some positions require applicants to be at least 16 years old, making the roles accessible to students or younger workers seeking their first seasonal job experience.
Schedules may vary depending on course demand, weather conditions, and tournament schedules.
One benefit highlighted by the city is a perk that immediately appeals to golf enthusiasts.
Seasonal staff may receive complimentary golf privileges during non peak hours, allowing employees to play the course around their work schedules when availability allows.
For many seasonal hires, the opportunity to gain work experience while spending time outdoors and enjoying one of the region’s best public courses is part of the attraction.
Municipal golf courses across Minnesota typically begin hiring seasonal workers in late winter as they prepare for the surge in demand that arrives once snow melts and temperatures rise.
At Bunker Hills Golf Club, the seasonal workforce plays a key role in maintaining course conditions, assisting visitors, and helping the facility operate smoothly during its busiest months.
City officials encourage interested applicants to apply early as positions may fill quickly ahead of the start of the 2026 season.
