MINNEAPOLIS, MN (September 26, 2026). The Minnesota Lynx will begin their WNBA championship campaign Sunday afternoon at Target Center against the New York Liberty after securing the league’s No. 1 playoff seed.

Minnesota completed its regular season with an 86-66 victory over the Indiana Fever, providing the Lynx with momentum ahead of a demanding first-round matchup against the defending WNBA champions.

Game 1 is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday, September 27, at Target Center. The game will be televised nationally on ABC.

Game 2 will be played at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, and televised on USA Network.

If a deciding third game is necessary, the series will return to Target Center on Thursday, October 1. The time for that game had not been announced with the initial schedule.

The first round uses a best-of-three format, leaving little opportunity for either team to recover from an early loss. Minnesota’s No. 1 seed gives the Lynx home-court advantage in the opening game and any necessary deciding contest.

The first-round winner will advance to a best-of-five semifinal series. The WNBA Finals will be played as a best-of-seven series.
