The Coon Rapids Cardinals won their road game against the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton Lumberjacks on Saturday, ending 6-3.
The Cardinals opened strong, at the beginning of the game with Tristan Golen scoring in the first period, goal assisted by Eli Boden and Cayden Alphin.
The Cardinals increased the lead to 2-0 in the first period when Tristan Golen scored again, assisted by Eli Boden and Cayden Alphin.
The Lumberjacks' Ethan Kilichowski narrowed the gap to 2-1 in the middle of the first period, assisted by Jace Stewart and Joseph Antonutti.
Three goals were scored in the second period, and the Cardinals led 4-2 going in to the third period.
Niko Gentilini narrowed the gap to 4-3 early in the third period, assisted by Karson Young and Cole Painovich.
Tyler Barsness made it 5-3 four minutes later, assisted by Roan Bresnahan and Trenton Theisen.
Cayden Alphin also increased the lead to 6-3 four minutes later.

The Lumberjacks host Grand Rapids on Tuesday at 7 p.m. CST at Cloquet Area Recreation Center. The Cardinals will face Anoka on Thursday at 7 p.m. CST at Anoka Area Ice Arena.
