The Columbia Heights Public Schools district Hylander Robotics Team “The Cyber Knights,” comprised of Columbia Academy students Walimang Dibba, Xavier Vital-Schwartz and Gunnar Peterson, competed at the MN First Tech ChallengeState Tournament on Feb. 17, 2024 at the St. Paul RiverCentre & Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul.
The Cyber Knights made it into the quarterfinal round of the MN FTC State Championship, which is the furthest a CHPS Robotics team has gone in the State Tournament. Their robot can hang from a rail, shoot paper airplanes, move on its own without a driver, pick up objects and see colors. Walimang is the team’s coder, Xavier is the one who built the robot and Gunnar is the one who drives the robot.
