After a hard fought battle with the Minnesota State High School League to make boys volleyball an official sport, student athletes in Anoka-Hennepin finally reached victory when the board voted 5-0 to make boys volleyball a sanctioned sport in the district. The vote came during the Aug. 26 board meeting, for which Board Member Zach Arco was absent.
“Obviously, we have growing participation with this sport,” Associate Superintendent Joshua Delich said. “It’s really neat to see this growing in such leaps and bounds, not only just in Minnesota, but across the nation as well. With that enhanced athletic development, it always really helps our students with their own development.”
