Forest Lake's Fix-It Clinic Promotes Sustainability, Mend And Reduce Waste At Hardwood Creek Library
Residents of Forest Lake have a unique opportunity to embrace sustainability and extend the lifespan of their possessions at the Fix-it Clinic. Scheduled for December 7 at the Hardwood Creek Library, located at 19955 Forest Road North, this event runs from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M., accepting the last item at 1:30 P.M., according to the Washington County website.
With an intention woven deeply into the fabric of environmental consciousness, the clinic invites the community to bring in a range of household items, including but not limited to toasters, stereo systems, and sewing machines, ready to be repaired by skilled volunteers. While these items can find new life, participants are reminded they must be able to carry items in - leaving behind any oversized aspirations along with prohibited items such as e-cigarettes and potential weapons.
For those with a penchant for repair and a desire to contribute, the event is still seeking for fixer volunteers. Interested individuals with talents in various handy works such as soldering, electronic repair, or just a proclivity for tinkering are encouraged to join. Inquiries about volunteering can be directed through an email to PHE@co.washington.mn.us or by calling 651-430-6655.
Looking forward, those who might miss this upcoming clinic or find their drawers filled with malfunctioning gadgets will have to wait until 2025 for future clinics.
