Coon Rapids Calls On Residents To Battle Emerald Ash Borer Infestation
The Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) continues to wreak havoc on Coon Rapids' tree canopy, and the battle against this invasive menace is far from over.
As reported on the city's official website, residents are urged to stay vigilant and report any signs of EAB infestation in the city’s boulevard trees.
Through the Report It forms, citizens can quickly direct their concerns to the City Forester, triggering a process that could save numerous trees from the EAB's dire grasp, according to the City of Coon Rapids.
The challenge presented by the EAB is formidable, but Coon Rapids isn't waving a white flag just yet. In a statement obtained by the city's announcement, the City Forester's office has underlined that the eradication campaign is a protracted affair, with 6,000 boulevard Ash trees needing attention. So far, only about half of those have been shown the exit, a task that has spanned several years.
