Plane crashes into home in Brooklyn Park, no survivors

The plane crashed into a home near 109th Ave. North and Noble Parkway.

A plane crashed into a house in Brooklyn Park on Saturday afternoon, presumably leaving an unknown number of people dead — though no one inside the home was injured.

"My team is in touch with local officials on the scene in Brooklyn Park and we are monitoring the situation closely," Gov. Tim Walz said. "Grateful to the first responders answering the call."

The plane crashed into a home located at 10792 Kyle Ave, and first responders at the scene found the home fully engulfed in fire.

\According to the FAA, the plane — a SOCATA TBM7 — crashed around 12:20 p.m. CT after departing from Des Moines International Airport en route to the Anoka county-Blaine Airport.

"We do not yet know how many people were on board. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will investigate," the FAA said.

Brooklyn Park Fire Department confirmed in a release that while it's unknown how many people were onboard the aircraft, "there were no survivors."

Federal authorities are expected to arrive at the scene by early Sunday.

Creative Captures Aerial Imaging posted photos and video from the scene and you can see them on Facebook here. A single home is clearly badly damaged with smoke rising from the rubble.

A MnDOT traffic camera on Hwy. 610 at East River Road showed smoke billowing from the crash site around 12:30 p.m.
