Friends and family are paying tribute to an Andover woman after she died unexpectedly on a trip to Puerto Rico.
Heather Morell, 52, died shortly after arriving in Puerto Rico with her husband on April 2. The two were on the trip to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.
According to a GoFundMe set up by friends of Morell, she collapsed at the airport due to “unexplained reasons.”
"Her passing was sudden and heartbreaking, and we are all still trying to come to terms with the reality of a world without her in it," the GoFundMe reads. "Heather lit up every room she entered. She was kind, generous, funny, and fiercely loyal to the people she loved."
The fundraiser will help pay funeral expenses and to support Morell’s husband, Kaleb.
The funeral will be held after Morell’s remains are transferred back to Minnesota.
“Any amount helps and will be deeply appreciated by Heather’s family and friends,” the GoFundMe reads. “Let’s come together and honor Heather in the same way she gave to all of us, surrounded by love, support and a passionate generosity.”
As of Saturday, the fundraiser had reached $4,700 of its $30,000 goal.
