WalletHub, the personal finance company that is big on releasing studies, has released an analysis of the best places to start a career in the U.S. Minneapolis ranks highly, sitting just outside the top 10 at 11.

The study ranks 182 U.S. cities on the relative strength of their job market and overall livability. Those two categories are comprised of 25 metrics that include data on the availability of entry-level jobs, average starting salary, and housing affordability.

Minneapolis ranked 11th, a combination of placing 28th in professional opportunities available and fourth in quality of life.

  5. Miami, Fla.
  6. Charleston, S.C.

The only other Minnesota city on the list is St. Paul, which ranks 60th, a combination of placing 96th in professional opportunities and 22nd in quality of life.
