Andover, MN – A fatal motor vehicle crash occurred in Andover, Minnesota, on Thursday, May 16, 2025, prompting an ongoing investigation by local authorities.
At approximately 5:45 PM, emergency services, including the Anoka County Sheriff's Office, Anoka Police Department, Andover Fire Department, and Allina EMS, responded to a report of a collision at the intersection of 165th Avenue NW and 7th Avenue NW in Andover.
Initial findings indicate that a pickup truck, driven by an adult male, was traveling westbound on 165th Avenue NW when it collided with an SUV driven by an adult female who was traveling southbound.
Following the impact, the male driver of the pickup truck reportedly fled the scene. However, he was located a short time later by law enforcement officials, apprehended, and subsequently transported to the Anoka County Jail. He is currently awaiting formal charges related to the incident.
Tragically, the adult female driver of the SUV sustained critical injuries in the crash. She was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment but was later pronounced deceased. Her identity is being withheld pending notification of her family.
