Stacy Caldwell is using her voice to raise awareness about breast cancer—not just for herself, but for millions of women. The stage 4 cancer survivor is one of 10 women featured in “One in Eight,” a new documentary premiering August 10 in Hopkins.
“It feels great, I feel honored to be part of something so big,” said Caldwell.
The film aims to shed light on the realities of living with cancer, the need for more research on stage 4 breast cancer, and the importance of early detection. The purpose was to share an “unflinching look” at life with breast cancer and the film even comes with a warning that some images may be graphic and it may not be suitable for every age.
“Breast cancer can affect anyone—young, healthy, any age,” Caldwell said. “I really want to hit home that one in eight women will get breast cancer in their lifetime, so take the time to pay attention to any lumps or anything in your body that seems off and go to the doctor and check it out.”
