ANDOVER, Minn. — Officials have identified the man killed in a fatal crash involving a pickup truck and a school bus in the City of Andover earlier this week.
The victim has been named as Dustin Cole King, 43, of Andover, according to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office. King was the driver of the pickup truck that collided head-on with a school bus on the morning of September 30, 2025, near Roanoke Street NW and 175th Avenue NW.
Authorities said King’s vehicle, which was towing a trailer, crossed the center line before striking the southbound bus. Despite lifesaving efforts at the scene, he was pronounced dead.
At the time of the crash, five students were aboard the bus on their way to Anoka High School. The bus driver and one student were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The remaining students were evaluated at the scene and later picked up by parents, according to officials.
The collision prompted an immediate emergency response and an extended road closure as investigators documented the scene.
The case remains under active investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol, the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities have stated that no further information will be released while the investigation continues.
