ANOKA COUNTY, Minn. (Oct. 10, 2025) — Several major infrastructure projects across Anoka County are entering their final phases as the 2025 construction season winds down, according to the county’s latest Construction Weekly report. The updates highlight progress on key highway, bridge, and resurfacing projects aimed at improving traffic flow, safety, and long-term infrastructure durability.
Crews on the Ramsey Gateway Project — a joint initiative involving U.S. Highway 10/169 at Ramsey Boulevard (County Highway 56) and Sunfish Lake Boulevard (County Highway 57) — have begun the final stage of work. The latest progress includes removing the last sections of old pavement, grading the subgrade, and installing new bituminous pavement along Highway 10.
Contractors are also performing punch list work across the site. Next week, they are scheduled to install the final section of J-barrier in the Highway 10 median.
The intersection of Feldspar Street and Riverdale Drive closed the week of Oct. 6, with access maintained via Sunfish Lake Boulevard or Ramsey Boulevard. Both Ramsey Boulevard and Riverdale Drive have reopened to traffic.

Work continues on the bridge rehabilitation along County Highway 2 (44th Avenue NE) between East River Road (CSAH 1) and Main Street (CR 102). Contractors are preparing for the third of five bridge deck pours and installing support decking and metal reinforcement bars.
The bridge remains closed for the duration of the project, with completion scheduled for May 31, 2026.
At the intersection of Mississippi Street NE (County Highway 6) and 7th Street, the contractor has completed installation of a new storm sewer system and begun spreading class 5 gravel across the project area.
Next week’s plans include installing concrete curbs and preparing sidewalks. The intersection remains closed through Oct. 24, and motorists are advised to use alternate routes.
At the intersection of 109th Avenue NW (CSAH 12), Northdale Boulevard, and University Avenue (CSAH 51), contractors have completed minor punch list items for the intersection improvement project.
Anoka County’s 2025 Overlay Program includes multiple resurfacing projects designed to improve pavement quality and extend roadway life.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation’s Highway 10 Strategic Congestion Management Project — between Hanson Boulevard (CSAH 78) and Round Lake Boulevard (CSAH 9) — continues to address one of the region’s most congested corridors.
The project will add a third lane in each direction, repave existing lanes, and install noise walls at several locations to reduce traffic noise and improve safety.
Current closures include:
Traffic shifts will continue throughout the project, but two lanes will remain open in each direction.

MnDOT crews are repairing the southbound Round Lake Boulevard Bridge over Highway 10 after an over-height vehicle damaged a fascia girder in April. Work includes replacing the damaged beam and repouring a section of the bridge deck.
Short-term overnight closures and lane reductions are expected as construction crews complete deck stripping and expansion joint replacement.
All work is weather-dependent and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to drive with caution in active work zones.
