MINNEAPOLIMEDIA NEWS | More Than 50 Food Trucks Rolling Into Downtown Anoka for Saturday Festival

Free, daylong celebration will feature global food, live music, family games and support for Feed My Starving Children

ANOKA, MN (August 14, 2026) Downtown Anoka will become one of the Twin Cities’ largest outdoor dining rooms Saturday as more than 50 mobile food vendors gather for the 2026 Anoka Food Truck Festival.

The free festival will run from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, August 15, around Anoka City Hall, Jackson Street and Second Avenue.

Organized by Minnesota Food Truck Festivals, the event will combine food and beverages with live music, outdoor games and family activities.

A Wide Range of Food

Organizers say the participating vendors will offer dishes representing a broad range of culinary traditions.

Advertised selections include crispy pork belly, green papaya salad, wood-fired pizza, gyros, gourmet mini doughnuts, lobster rolls, tacos, Japanese hibachi, Spanish paella and açaí bowls.

Actual menus and vendor availability may change on the day of the festival.

Craft beer, cocktails, seltzers, cider and nonalcoholic beverages will also be available. Adults purchasing alcoholic beverages should be prepared to present identification and follow the rules governing Anoka’s Social District.

Live Music Throughout the Day

The festival’s Minnesota Lottery Stage will feature three scheduled bands:

• Bigly, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Stone Daisy, 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.
• Maiden Dixie, 6 to 9 p.m.

Organizers are also advertising lawn games and giveaways, including giant Connect Four, beanbag games and Hammerschlagen.

The festival is promoted as family-friendly and dog-friendly. Owners bringing dogs should be prepared for crowds, hot pavement, food traffic and loud music and should keep animals under control.

Festival Supports Feed My Starving Children

The event’s charitable partner is Feed My Starving Children, a Minnesota-based nonprofit that packages and distributes meals through humanitarian partners.

Organizers say each free festival wristband will help provide three meals through the organization. Proceeds connected with designated beverage and water sales are also expected to support the effort.

The partnership gives visitors an opportunity to connect a free community festival with hunger-relief work extending beyond Anoka.

Parking and Transportation

The festival will take over portions of the downtown district, and a large crowd is expected throughout the day.

Parking is available in nearby municipal lots, neighborhood spaces and legal street-parking areas. Organizers strongly recommend carpooling or using rideshare services.

Visitors should observe temporary parking restrictions, street closures and posted signs. Vehicles blocking emergency routes, private driveways or restricted areas may be ticketed or towed.

The principal festival location is listed as 2015 South First Avenue in downtown Anoka, with activities extending around City Hall and nearby streets.

A Major North Metro Gathering

The Anoka Food Truck Festival has grown into a signature summer event by combining the accessibility of street food with the atmosphere of a community festival.

Unlike a conventional restaurant visit, the event allows families and groups to sample food from multiple vendors while listening to live music and spending the day downtown.

Admission is free, but food, beverages and vendor merchandise must be purchased separately.
