FALCON HEIGHTS, MN (September 2, 2026) Minnesota State Fair officials are clarifying the presence of uniformed federal personnel after fairgoers reported seeing people wearing Department of Homeland Security insignia on the grounds.
Officials said the personnel are members of the Federal Air Marshal Service.
The agency is part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and provides transportation-security assistance at major events.
Fair officials said their presence at the Minnesota State Fair is connected to that security role.
The clarification carries particular significance in Minnesota following months of heightened public attention surrounding federal immigration enforcement and Operation Metro Surge.
