Brooklyn Park Police Search for Suspect After Man and Woman Shot Near Rollover Crash
Officers recovered a firearm and used a police dog and State Patrol helicopter during the search, but no arrest had been announced.
BROOKLYN PARK, MN (September 2, 2026) Brooklyn Park police are searching for a suspect after a man and woman were shot late Monday in an incident that initially brought officers to the scene of a rollover crash.
Police were dispatched around 11:40 p.m. to the area of North 73rd and Brunswick avenues.
Officers initially received a report of a vehicle rollover but found a woman inside the crashed vehicle and evidence that gunfire had occurred.
A man suffering from a gunshot wound was located nearby.
Both victims told police that another person had fired at them and fled.
Officers established a search area and brought in a police K-9 while a Minnesota State Patrol helicopter assisted from the air.
Investigators recovered a firearm during the search.
The suspected shooter, however, had not been located in the latest information released by police.
Authorities have not disclosed what led to the shooting or whether the victims knew the gunman.
The investigation remains ongoing.
