COON RAPIDS, MN (October 9, 2026).
Motorists traveling through Coon Rapids and Lino Lakes should prepare for continued road construction as Anoka County advances pavement and infrastructure improvements on two North Metro corridors.
In Coon Rapids, resurfacing work on Main Street is continuing through the weekend, with crews scheduled to work around the clock through Saturday, October 10, to complete a portion of the project.
In Lino Lakes, a separate project on Hodgson Road is scheduled to begin Monday, October 12, with improvements involving sidewalks, traffic signals and pavement.
The projects are part of the county's ongoing efforts to maintain road conditions and improve transportation infrastructure, but they also create immediate travel concerns for residents, commuters and local businesses.

Anoka County announced that nighttime and around-the-clock work would take place on Main Street in Coon Rapids, including the corridor extending from the Highway 10 bridge toward Coon Creek Boulevard.
According to the county's October 1 construction notice, crews were scheduled to work continuously from Sunday, October 4, through Saturday, October 10, to complete pavement resurfacing.
Traffic was expected to be reduced to one lane in each direction during this phase.
An earlier county advisory warned motorists to expect major delays throughout October as construction continued along the corridor.
Drivers should exercise caution, follow posted signs and allow additional travel time.
In Lino Lakes, construction is scheduled to begin Monday on Hodgson Road.
Anoka County says the project includes accessibility improvements to sidewalks at the Hodgson Road and Birch Street intersection, minor traffic-signal improvements and pavement resurfacing.
The county expects the work to be completed by October 31, although construction schedules can change because of weather or other conditions.
The sidewalk work is particularly important because it addresses accessibility at a public intersection, where safe pedestrian movement is an essential part of the transportation network.
Motorists using either corridor should anticipate construction equipment, temporary traffic changes and possible delays.
Residents who regularly use Main Street in Coon Rapids should pay attention to lane restrictions through the weekend and any updated county notices concerning the remainder of the project.
Drivers in Lino Lakes should prepare for work beginning Monday and consider whether alternate routes would make their trips more predictable.
Businesses along affected roads may also experience changes in customer access or traffic patterns while construction is underway.
Anoka County publishes construction announcements and schedule changes through its official website.
Residents should consult those notices before traveling, particularly when work is scheduled overnight or during periods of heavier traffic.
The county's anticipated completion dates represent project schedules, not guarantees that all restrictions will end at a particular hour.
